Subject: 10696/Code/Zoning/N.ShoreRezone Date: Thu, 2 Apr 1998 13:50:07 -0500 1998-065 City of Chattanooga ORDINANCE NO. 10696 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 6958, AS AMENDED, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE, SO AS TO REZONE CERTAIN PROPERTIES IDENTIFIED AS BEING WITHIN THE NORTH SHORE COMMERCIAL MIXED-USE AREA OF NORTH CHATTANOOGA, AS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN, FROM ANY CURRENT ZONES INCLUDING R-1, RT-1, R-2, R-3, R-4, C-2, C-3, C-5, AND M-1 TO C-7, NORTH SHORE COMMERCIAL MIXED-USE ZONE. WHEREAS, the North Shore Commercial Mixed-Use area is defined by the property boundary description attached as "Appendix A"; and WHEREAS, the North Shore Commercial Mixed Use Zone is a unique area of commercial development which has occurred within Chattanooga north of the Tennessee River and in the area of Market Street and Walnut Street Bridges; and WHEREAS, the general public health, safety, morals, convenience, prosperity and general welfare require certain conditions to the regulation of location, height, bulk, number of stories and size of buildings and structures within this area due to its unique development; and WHEREAS, the recommendation to adopt the C-7 zone will correspond with the recommendation of the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Planning Commission to zone certain properties to that C-7 zone; 0C NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That all of the properties identified as the North Shore Commercial Mixed-Use Area, more particularly described in Appendix A attached hereto, be and the same are hereby rezoned from their current zone to C-7, North Shore Commercial Mixed-Use Zone.
